The 8th grade class recently embarked on an educational journey to the Anne Frank House exhibit in New York City. Using The Diary of Anne Frank as their anchor text, students delved into excerpts from Anne Frank's diary and other primary sources. This immersive experience allowed them to explore the enduring lessons of conflict and address their year-long question: In what ways are we all created by conflict?

Presented by the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and hosted by the NYC Center for Jewish History, this limited engagement provided students with a unique opportunity to experience the secret annex where Anne Frank and her family lived. Through this visit, the students gained a deeper understanding of history, empathy, and the impact of conflict on individuals and societies.

This enriching experience not only enhanced their historical knowledge but also fostered critical thinking and reflection on the complexities of human conflict. The 8th grade class left the exhibit with a renewed sense of awareness and a commitment to learning from the past to build a better future.
